I.D.E.A. SERIES (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access)

ODEO is proud to present the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (I.D.E.A) Series, a series of online professional development workshops and panel discussion for dance educators and the dance community. Sessions will feature leaders and experts from Oregon and the Pacific NW leading the way towards a more inclusive, equitable, diverse, and accessible dance community in Oregon.


Session 1: Cultivating Equity, January 9th, 2021, 3-5 pm (interactive workshop with HeARTwork Collective)

Session 2: Racism & The Dance World, February 4, 2021, 7:30-8:30 pm  (lecture with Karida Griffith

Session 3: Equity in Practice, March 6, 2021, 3-4 pm (panel discussion with Oluyinka Akinjiloa, Kristen Brayson, Thomas Bruner, Cynthia Gutierrez-Garner

Session 4: LGBTQ+, Rainbow Inclusive Dance Education, April 8, 2021 7:30-8:30 pm (workshop and discussion)

Session 5: Dancing with Disabilities, May 1, 2021, 3-4 pm (workshop and discussion)

Session 6: The Access Divide: Socio-economic and regionals access to dance, June 5, 2021, 3-4 pm ( panel discussion)
