Amelia Unsicker, a Portland native, received her Master of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 2016, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Dance from the University of Oregon. Amelia is a Certified Pilates Instructor. She teaches ballet, contemporary, modern, improvisation, jazz, and Pilates throughout the Portland Metro Area. Amelia trained at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre. She later danced as a soloist with Ballet Fantastique for four years. Amelia appeared as a guest artist with Portland Festival Ballet, under the direction of the late John Magnus. In 2013, she joined the Agniezska Laska Dancers, where she performed The Rite of Spring in Portland, Chicago, and throughout Poland. She has worked with many respected choreographers, and has presented her own choreography at festivals and showcases throughout the West Coast. Amelia teaches dynamic and creative classes that challenge dancers to find their own artistic voice. She is currently the director of the dance program at Wilson High School and teaches at The Portland Ballet, The School of Oregon Ballet Theatre, and Fired-Up Dance Academy.
